Professional Training for American Red Cross

Training module on private military and security companies and international humanitarian law

Contribution

Developed a training module for the International Humanitarian Law Division of the American Red Cross on Private Military and Security Companies and international humanitarian law, focused on the legal status of private contractors as well as their resulting rights and obligations. The training module is an add-on module for the course “Introduction to International Humanitarian Law: A Primer for Professionals”.

Target Audience

Government employees from the U.S. Department of Defense, State Department, USAID as well as NGO employees.

Frauke created a terrific training for my team on private military security companies, which was professionally executed and thoughtfully designed. This will be an invaluable resource for my legal team, as well as the audiences we train! It was a pleasure to work with Frauke and we hope to work with her again! Christie Edwards

Director, International Humanitarian Law Division, American Red Cross
